Diversity may continue to thrive
Every insect, plant, and animal
Deserves its chance to survive
Eventually to rescue us all
Let us remember to breathe
Each of us individually
Present for the time being
Each one of us here for the other
Without a divide, we don't have to reach
So we take this moment as an opportunity
To teach each other how to look inside
And withhold judgment for the purpose of unity
So let's remember to breathe
Each one of us individually
Present until the moment we leave
Remaining alive here for each other

This poem, which I've dedicated above to Thay - Thich Nhat Hanh - was written also to be considered as lyrics for a forthcoming musical stage production with an environmentalist agenda about people coming together to help save the planet and consequently, ourselves. It's in this spirit that I also dedicate this poem to Grandpa Ron Holbrook, my dear collaborator in arms. Onward! Through the gates and to the curtains: the show must go on!
